Best known for his Grammy-winning 1968 instrumental hit "Classical Gas," (and more locally for living in the same city as me) guitarist and composer Mason Williams has enjoyed a remarkably varied career, from writing for The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour to recording his distinctive blend of classical, folk, and pop music.

Originally released in 1992, on this album Williams is joined by an impressive group of musicians for a collection of 14 instrumental Christmas and winter-themed selections. The album blends familiar carols like "Joy to the World," "Coventry Carol," and "The First Noel" with original works including "Mistletoe Moustache," "Hawaiian Sleigh Ride," and the title track, "A Gift of Song."
