Originally released by Verve Records in 1960, this holiday classic pairs the incomparable First Lady of Song with one of my personal favorite composers and bandleaders of the era, Frank De Vol. Ella's remarkable voice is on full display, from upbeat arrangements like "Jingle Bells," "Sleigh Ride," and "Winter Wonderland," to slower, beautiful renditions of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?"

This special Ruby Red vinyl edition, released by Verve in October 2023, features the original 12-track album along with a unique, collectible cover. More than six decades after its original release, Ella Wishes You a Swinging Christmas remains an essential part of any Christmas jazz collection.
